DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE on finding your pet! Many animals have been either found at our SPCA by their owners or return home themselves weeks or even months after they have gone missing. BUT, you must keep updating your LOST listing with us so we can make a match if your pet is turned into our SPCA, or someone calls us advising they have found a pet of that description.
KEEPING YOUR PET AT HOME
Here are some of the key points in Crowsnest Pass Animal Control Bylaws:
- Dogs must be kept in a fenced yard or tied to a running lead when let outside
- Dogs must be walked on a leash and not be allowed to run at large
- Ideally your pet should be kept in a spacious kennel with shelter from the elements and adequate water supply when left outdoors
- Dogs must be licensed through the Municipality annually & the tag securely attached to the collar (spayed/neutered license is $15 & unaltered dogs are $20 per year)
- Proper licensing will ensure your dog will be returned to you quickly and safely
- Cats should be kept indoors or in a secure cat run if let outside and not be allowed to run at large
