Adoption

Thank you for considering one of our animals! Our goal is to create great matches and connect potential adopters with amazing animals. To help create the best possible matches, our staff and volunteers will discuss your hopes, expectations and previous pet experiences with you.

We are happy to address any concerns or questions you may have during the adoption process. Above all, we want to foster a lifelong connection and create the best possible match between you and your future family member.

• Adoption Fee for Cats $200
• Adoption Fee for Dogs $300
• Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, rabies and deworming

The CNP SPCA has an adoption procedure.  You can download the Adoption Application.  Once completed, please either email, mail or drop off your application at the CNP SPCA.  A volunteer committee will review your application, check personal and veterinary references and may even do a home visit.  The processing time can vary and may take up to 2 weeks before a decision is reached. Once the committee has completed a review they will make their recommendation.  Not all applications to adopt are approved.

Animals are not adopted out during the months of October or December.  We also do not support animals being adopted as “surprise gifts” or “Christmas/birthday presents”.  All members of the adopting family must be aware of the conditions of adoption.

Should an adoption not work out, the animal must be returned to the CNP SPCA.  We also insist that all cats be strictly INDOOR.  If we feel it is necessary, we will conduct a follow-up visit(s) to check on the care of the adopted animal.

If an adopting individual/family is not abiding by our adoption contract, we will reclaim the animal without notice and document the breach of the contract.
